Progression of macaws growth

Hybrid Macaws hatched 11/22/01, 11/24/01, 11/27/01

These pictures are of my birds but they are not the parents of the Catalina Macaws below.  I purchased them from a breeder in California.  The breeders birds looked just like these.

Scarlet Macaw
Blue and Gold Macaw

This bonded Catalina pair is unrelated and have produced the chicks below.

I was so thrilled when two eggs hatched but delighted when three eggs hatched.  This pair has previously only produced one chick at a time.

On the 19th the adults stopped feeding the three babies so I continued the hand feeding.  This was two weeks earlier than I planned.  Night feeding 11:00pm and 4:00am. Then six feedings a day.  They eat so much. WOW
