This fabric is in a skirt that I
purchased at a pow wow.

Arrowhead Necklace
As a kid my dad would take everyone to the
drylands of Colorado to look for arrowheads

The picture here inspired me
to make this piece. The strap
became more time consuming
than the focal point.
Janie's Necklace
This Southwest style necklace has beautiful silver dove fetishes added.

Desert Sand

The picture of this
vest was the inspiration for this piece. A little silver lizard pin is attached to the center

Lots of beads in the
center caused this necklace to be
very lacy looking with
open work that allows
the color of cloth underneath to show through.

Kokopeli

 While working on this I
glanced at it in different light there
appeared to be a scene that looked
like snow and a landscape.
The kokopeli pin looked just right
playing his flute across the woven plains.
More elaborate straps with hillsides and
clouds had to be added.  I added some
yarn that looked like grasses.
 The distant mountains and clouds
finished the scene.

Lizard

This lizard pin made a great focal point. The square part is the only woven section in this necklace.  The simple ties are adjustable.

Dancer

While on a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico I was so inspired by the beauty of southwest Indian art. Needleweaving adapts so well with all of the beads, turquoise, silver, and endless varieties of elements.  The pewter sun dancer made a great center piece for this weaving.  The pinks and purples were a bit bright for me but I saw so many combinations that where artfully combined.  I decided to try it.  The fringes at the bottom have beautiful crystals, silver and tube beads.  This shows the weaving very well.

Mom's Necklace

It's hard to see but this necklace was made in a very small size for my mother.

Four Corners

This necklace is call the
"Four Corners" necklace.

Brown Turqouise with dicroic beads

The beautiful beads inspired
this necklace.

Indian Pottery

A friend of mine paints these replicas of ancient indian pottery.  He put a small ceramic circle on the back that would allow me to attach it to the back of the yarn.  This piece also has a pin that is detachable.

Eagle Dance
Eagle Dancer

The inspiration for this necklace came from the countless Indian dancers we encountered in the southwest.  This weaving has a pewter eagle dancer in the center of a woven mask which resembles the mask that he is wearing.  Turquoise colored beads combined with silver and red beads enhance the fringe at the
bottom of the necklace.

Honey Girl

Beautiful honey colored beads inspired this needleweaving.
